You won’t likely forget the spectacular holes at Cobble Beach in Owen Sound, Ontario. And to round out your day we’ve added a dining suggestion for the 19th hole that is deliciously above par too.
The Cobble Beach Golf Resort has won awards from gold magazines in Canada and the U.S. for its seaside links and ten-room Nantucket-style Inn. A series of golf clinics caters to juniors, adults and corporate groups.
Once you’ve perfected your swing you’ll be ready to tackle architect Doug Carrick’s rugged masterpiece that meanders around the shoreline and bluffs of Georgian Bay, with water views from every fairway. Beyond the green at the par 3 signature 17th, Cobble Beach’s iconic lighthouse (actually a water pumping station) pays tribute to this area, which was used a a survey point back in the early 1800s by the British admiralty.
19th Hole – At Cobble’s Sweetwater Restaurant, chef Tim Johnston’s menu highlights regional products, such as an elk scallopini with cranberry glaze. Save room for his signature rum rasin butter tart. Yum!
Watch for our next signature hole pick! In the meantime, tell us: Where is your favourite place in Ontario to hit the links?
