With summer just around the corner, what better way to celebrate than with a day-long event in Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square with tourism destinations from across the province sharing some vacation inspiration. We kicked off the summer season on June 7th with contests, demonstrations, photo ops and much more. Here are a few photos of the fun to get you inspired for your next Ontario adventure.
Meet the Mascots!
There were some familiar faces in Yonge-Dundas Square, including (left to right) Parks Canada’s Parka, Blue Mountain Village Mascot Blue, Toronto Zoo mascot Er Shun, and Legoland mascot. Photo op anyone?
We’re off to see Ontario!
In celebration of Mirvish’s The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy popped by the celebrations to snap photos with fans.
Giveaways and Surprises!
The buzz on Yonge-Dundas square built all morning as Breakfast Television broadcasted live from the square, and host Jenn Valentine drew winners for two great prizes, use of a Motor home rental, and an Ontario trip on Porter Airlines.
The Toronto Blue Jays offered visitors the chance to test out their arm and see just how fast they can pitch. Jays player Munenori Kawasaki also dropped by to sign autographs!
Treat for the taste buds
There were some delicious Ontario treats for guests to sample, including bannock from Aboriginal Tourism Experience and the Kawartha Northumberland Butter Tart Trail.
