Meet the Planet D:
Award winning travel couple, Dave and Deb live by the motto “adventure is for everyone. Married for 17 years, they’ve visited over 80 countries on seven continents. Through their travel blog, The Planet D, they aim to inspire people to follow their dreams and push their boundaries.
Ontario is the Planet D’s home province and this winter they are discovering their own backyard. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store.
November 22-24, 2013 Gearing up for Lure of the North
Dave and Deb made traditional winter moccasins with Lure of the North in Sudbury in preparation for their epic expedition, The Missinaibi Headwaters Rail to Rail Adventure. Read their blog post about their first Ontario adventure here.
January 5 to 10, 2014 – On the Trail with Winterdance Dogsled Tours
Dave and Deb joined Hank DeBruin of Winterdance Dogsled Tours in the Haliburton Highlands as he trains for the 1,000 mile Yukon Quest. Read about their epic adventure here.

February 11 to 14, 2014 – A Winter Sampler in Explorers’ Edge
Dave and Deb experience a variety of winter fun in Muskoka and Algonquin Provincial Park. After skating the Ice Trail and skijoring at Arrowhead Provincial Park, snowmobiling with Back Country Tours, enjoying a guided snowshoe with Algonquin Outfitters, they will relax in comfort at Cedar Grove Lodge. Adventures in dining will be had at 3 Guys and A Stove, The Moose Café, The Norsemen-Walk Lake Resort Dining Room, The Iron Skillet and the Mill on Main.
January 27 to February 8, 2014 – Exploring The Missinaibi Headwaters, “Rail to Rail” Adventure
Dave and Deb embark on a 101 kilometre journey with Lure of the North into the Northern Ontario wilderness. They will travel by snowshoe, pulling traditional sleds and will learn about traditional winter camping.
