Take a lunch break at this charming Wellington West restaurant. Fresh, seasonal menus and unique offerings, like Caprese Sandwiches, has made Thyme & Again an Ottawa fixture since 1991. We love their tribute to the Valentine’s season with these beautiful window decorations!

Canadians love their butter tarts, and 3 Tarts Bakery serve up some of the best. Buy one to share, and leave room to sample some of the other treats in the shop, like their heart-shaped sugar cookies.
Question: Where in Ontario can you find a cake decorated to look just like a tasty bowl of poutine? Answer: The Cake Shop in the heart of Wellington West! The Poutine cake was created for Canada Day in 2008 and since then, over 5 000 have been sold.
Talk about perfect timing – one of Canada’s most famous winter festivals coincides with Valentine’s Day! Spend your weekend skating the canal, exploring the Crystal Gardens and taking in snow sculptures in the Byward Market. And of course you’ll want to try the quintessential Ottawa treat, Beaver Tails.

Suzy Q’s Doughnut Shop is one of my favorite places to indulge in all of Ottawa. My awesome wife actually ended up picking me up a few treats from here on VDay and I have to say that it made a very nice surprise gift! (we usually don’t do gifts on Valentine’s day)
