The Crystal Palace – Picton, Ontario
Each year TASTE community grown brings together farmers, chefs, winemakers, brewmasters & local food producers to celebrate the season at Picton’s historic Crystal Palace. This year’s festival featured foodie favs like Black River Cheese & as well as breweries like Church Key Brewery & MacKinnon Brothers Brewery just to name a few. But the celebration of local doesn’t end when the festival is over: you explore all of these yummy finds on the Bay of Quinte’s Cheddar & Ale Trail.
The Drake Devonshire Inn – Wellington, Ontario
The newest addition to Prince Edward County is this off-shoot of the popular Toronto boutique hotel, The Drake. With it’s location on the water’s edge, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy fall sunshine paired with local wine or farm to table cuisine. Want to try something different? Each of their cocktails are creations of the Drake bartenders, and inspired by local flavours. Sample the Sandbanks Sour or the Strawberry Fields for a sweet treat.
Norman Hardie Winery – Wellington, Ontario
What better way to celebrate the harvest season than by lingering at a vineyard. Start your visit to Norman Hardie with a tasting of the winery’s award winning wines . A hot spot on beautiful fall days, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the changing leaves.
Sweet Spots – Brighton, Ontario
Every year Brighton celebrates the apple harvest with Applefest, a three-day street festival where you can discover everything apple. This year the stunning fall weather brought record crowds to enjoy the festivities, and check out gems like a lighthouse made of local apples!
After the festival there’s lots to enjoy in this quaint town, including stops on the Chocolate & Apple Trail, like tasty Mrs. B’s Country Candy, & nearby apple orchards including Dunnett’s Orchard and Cricklewood Farms. Plus, don’t miss the treasures you can discover inside the End of the Thread Antique Emporium.
