This summer GO Transit is taking you to the heart of adventure with their with their new seasonal route to Niagara-on-the-Lake kicking off in July. Here’s 5 stops to experience on your own #GoGetaway.
1. Grab a bite to go from O&B Canteen
Start your mini-break off on a tasty note with a breakfast to-go from O & B Canteen. Their fresh yogurt parfait, or one of their delicious pastries makes the perfect start to the day and get you fueled up for your adventure.
Each train has two dedicated bike cars, making it easy to bring along your own bike. For those looking for a longer bike ride, hop off the train in St. Catharines and pedal to Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) through wine country, or travel with GO to the heart of NOTL and start your cycle from there. Want to rent a bike? Local shops in NOTL also offer bike rentals and handy maps to plan your route.
3. Clock some patio time at Inniskillin
With its beautiful patio tucked in the vineyards and summer blooms, you’ll want to linger over a glass of wine here. Inniskillin also offers tours, as well as private experiences that you can book ahead of time, like their rustic luncheon which makes the most of local ingredients.
Explore the Vineyards at Jackson-Triggs
Inspired by the agricultural heritage of the region, Jackson-Triggs is designed to resemble a modern barn. Take a tour of the winery, and discover how Jackson-Triggs uses state-of-the-art gravity-flow to make their winery eco-friendly. Bonus: Their summer concert series brings artists like The Arkells, Sam Roberts Band, Spirit of the West and many more to play under the stars in their beautiful amphitheatre.
5. Head home or stay the night
The GO Bus has several departure times from Niagara-on-the-Lake to choose from on Saturday, Sunday and holiday Monday evenings, but if you want to extend your time in the area there are plenty of options for overnight accommodations.
Did you know? GO Transit also offers seasonal service to Niagara Falls and Barrie! Check out the full schedules here to plan your trip.

Sadly there is no Go Train from Hamilton to Niagara-on-the-Lake, if there was I’d be the first one on it.
