Each year Royal Botanical Gardens kicks off the festive season with their Holiday Traditions celebration. Here are our picks for three ways to make family memories at this year’s event.
Take a Winter Wander in Hendrie Park
The feeling of Holiday magic for kids (of all ages!) starts from the moment you step in the illuminated entryway to Hendrie Park. Wander through the gardens and take in the illuminated trees, decorative gifts and buildings.
Santa’s Cabin at the Royal Botanical Gardens is the perfect backdrop for your holiday photo with Santa. Enjoy a warm cup of hot cocoa while you wait, and don’t forget to admire Santa’s Candy Cane Garden. Tips: On Dec 19th & 20th, 2015 keep out an eye for Santa’s Reindeer before they make their trek back to the North Pole.
What’s the best way to travel to Santa’s Cabin? By train of course! New this year: The RBG Express lets kids and parents take a magical train ride through the Hendrie Park right up to Santa’s doorstep. Want more trains? Head inside to the RBG Train show, and wander through Canadian landmarks created out of cedar and rock, as model trains chug around the track.
There’s this and so much more to check out at #RBGHolidayTraditions. See the full line up of events here.
