YOU’LL WANT TO SPIN YOUR WHEELS ON THESE 5 CYCLING ADVENTURES

Activate pedal power! Since its inception 200 years ago, the bicycle has become a universally efficient, healthy and eco-friendly mode of transportation. In Ontario, cycling is all that and so much more. Here’s how we roll. Grab a helmet, a set of wheels, and come along for the ride.

CITY CYCLING
Skip the traffic and set your own speed on a guided urban cycling tour.

Discover a new spin on the Capital with RentaBike Tours. Get a taste of Toronto’s history, culture, people and food with Pedal Toronto or Toronto Bicycle Tours.

BACKROAD TOURING
Farm fields and forests make a post card backdrop for cycling in Ontario’s countryside.

Pedal and Paddle the Apple Pie Trail in and around the Blue Mountains. This self-guided ride includes a break for your legs with a one-hour paddle on the Beaver River. Ride the routes throughout Simcoe County; from leisure to hard core, plan your pace with maps and route resources. Cyclists are drawn to the rolling hills of Northumberland County, the farmlands and heritage waterways in Southeastern Ontario, 1,000 Islands and beyond to Prescott-Russell. Discover the back roads in Norfolk County and explore the extensive trail systems in Haliburton Highlands. Manitoulin Island is a cyclist’s dream; as the world’s largest freshwater island, you’re never far from an amazing view.

WINE COUNTRY ROAMING
Peddle past vineyards and villages in Ontario’s lush wine regions.

Cruise Niagara’s wine region on a guided or self-guided outing with Niagara Wine Tours, Steve Bauer Bike Tours, or Zoom Leisure. Rent your ride from Bloomfield Bicycle Company in charming Prince Edward County. Take a break from driving with Farm Dog Cycles Tours or WindsorEast’s Wine Trail Rides on a scenic bike tour to local farms and vineyards in Canada’s southernmost wine destination, Windsor Essex Pelee. Best part? They’ll shuttle your purchases back for you. Soak up some island vibe on a chill cycling tour ending up at Pelee Island Winery Pavilion with Explore Pelee. And check out the century old ‘new kid’ on the island, Stone House 1891 Craft Bar and Kitchen serving craft beer, wine, artisanal cocktails and farm-to-table fare.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
Is shredding up off-road terrain more your gear?

Long Point Eco Adventures, offers guided mountain bike excursions across over 50 kilometres of single track trails through Turkey Point Provincial Park and St. Williams Conservation Reserve. The trails at Hardwood Ski and Bike in Oro-Medonte are diverse enough to introduce beginners to the sport as well as challenge the experts (these trails were used for the 2015 Pan Am Games). Hit the trails at Shuniah Mines near Thunder Bay for intermediate to advanced trails through the boreal forest or tear up the 30 kilometres of single and double track at Buckwallow Cycling Centre in Gravenhurst.

MULTI-DAY EPIC ADVENTURING
If you love the freedom of the open road, sign up for these epic road trips.

Humdinger Bicycle Tours and Liv Outside invite you to explore the heart of Ontario’s beloved ‘cottage country’ on a guided tour with pre-arranged accommodations, van support and luggage transfers so all you have to do is enjoy the ride.
